About us: Emport LLC is a small company that sells testing kits that detect traces of allergen contamination in foods. Primarily, our clients are food manufacturers, ranging from local producers to international brands. We differentiate ourselves from the competition not only by the quality of our products, but also by prioritizing friendly, efficient and human-scale customer service.

We need: Help with a variety of administrative, sales and marketing tasks, including travel to several annual trade shows and conferences.

About you: You are an organized, independent self-starter who values the flexibility of working in a small business environment. You are comfortable setting deadlines and sticking to them, and you are naturally detail-oriented. Your communication skills – written and spoken – are excellent. Like us, you’re happiest when juggling long-term projects alongside the day’s adventures.

The job: We all wear many hats. Your job will rely heavily on your communication and logistical skills and your workload will include (but not be limited to):
– Assorted administrative work related to sales tracking
– Helping customers/potential customers over phone and email
– Maintaining our social media presence
– Overseeing the calendar for e-blasts and marketing programs
– Handling pre- and post- trade show logistics
– Attending conferences and trade shows (including booth set-up/breakdown)
– Writing and publishing blog posts, newsletters, and press releases
– As the company grows we anticipate your role growing and changing as well

More than any specific work or educational experiences, we value the ability to learn new things, interact well with customers, and communicate clearly. Prior knowledge of any of these is a plus but not required:
– Mac OS; Microsoft Office; Mailchimp; WordPress
– Food manufacturing
– Gluten-free/allergen-free community

Relevant details:
The position is full-time and is based remotely. Domestic travel will be required 4-7x/year. These are generally overnight trips of 2-5 days in major metropolitan areas.

You will be responsible for setting up the trade show booth, which entails carrying boxes of 15+ lbs., wheeling hard cases, and assembling the scaffolding for the back banner.

Benefits include paid time off but do not include health insurance.
