Personal development and becoming the best you is all about growth and exploring new skills and opportunities – both in and out of the office. At Accruent, we call this Grow Without Limits, and we’re proud to offer each of our employees the resources, coaching and support necessary to achieve Growth Without Limits in their personal and professional lives. Explore where the path takes you.

Why you want to work for our Finance team:

Our Finance team ensures Accruent is aligned on maintaining and growing the business. You will help our leaders make the best plan for the business and build critical initiatives to achieve our targets. Being part of this team means you're ready to put in the hard work and focus on the results at the end of the day.

The Financial Analyst becomes part of the PLBT Finance Team, which provides financial planning and analysis support to the Chief Technology & Product Officer (CTPO), CFO and rest of the Executive Team and to Accruent’s Product Line Business Teams (PLBTs). The PLBTs essentially act as the management teams of our key software solutions and consist of one senior representative per major function (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Product Management, CSM/Support) appointed by our Executive Team. Among others, the PLBTs define and execute on product line initiatives that roll up to the broader Accruent strategy.

The PLBT Finance Team is a newly established team, whose key objective is to track and report on these initiatives and guide the PLBTs in achieving growth and driving profitability. A focal element of this role will be to serve our CTPO and his direct reports with all kinds of FP&A support, with an emphasis on optimizing periodical reporting and analysis about R&D spend (incl. software capitalization). Other key objectives of this team include helping drive product line specific financial and performance reporting, building standard work for revenue and cost models to determine business success, and providing sound financial analyses and tools that guide better, data-driven management decisions.

This is a new role at Accruent, giving the Financial Analyst a unique opportunity to help shape, define and grow a team that is seen as critical to achieving Accruent’s broader strategic goals. The position requires an individual who is well-versed in the use of financial analysis tools and techniques, and is knowledgeable about the software industry. This position reports to the PLBT Finance Lead and will be a remote/work from home opportunity.

How you'll make a difference:

  • Provide data, reporting and analysis to our Executive Team and the PLBTs to effectively manage product line profitability and to support data driven business decisions, and communicate trends and outcomes
  • Partner with our CTPO and his direct reports as main liaison to the CFO organization, with a focus on optimizing periodical reporting and analysis about R&D spend (incl. software capitalization)
  • Provide financial analysis, variance analysis, and budgeting support to the PLBTs, our CTPO and, as needed, the rest of our company
  • Build financial models for the PLBTs, the CTPO organization and the wider company to support new initiatives, analyze various scenarios and drive innovative thinking, ensuring accuracy and relevance to the business
  • Assist in financial reviews of the company’s monthly performance for senior management and others as needed
  • Drive all kinds of process improvements and efficiencies
  • Work with other teams (e.g., Accounting, Revenue Ops, HR) to identify and resolve forecast vs actual discrepancies
  • Work in compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures and processes

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related area
  • 1-3 years of work experience as a financial analyst
  • Phenomenal problem-solving and analytical skills
  • A strong desire to learn
  • Good communication, organizational and financial skills
  • Eye for detail, sense of urgency and a high bar for yourself and your work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn new ERP systems
  • Accounting software experience (experience with Adaptive is considered an advantage)
