Senior MySQL Open Source Developer

We are now looking for a Senior MySQL developer to join our committed and talented team! This position is open to candidates in the Helsinki or Berlin area and to remote candidates in Europe. We will also consider candidates in other regions.

Aiven operates a sizable managed MySQL service fleet on behalf of our customers. With the combination of other Open Source data technologies in the same offering, Aiven helps customers to manage significant data flows for a wide range of use cases.

Your role is to directly contribute to the open source MySQL ecosystem projects. You will be developing new features, writing plugins, and other extensions, as well as investigating and fixing issues that might arise while operating MySQL and other components in its ecosystem. All your work is contributed to the open source community.

You will also work as a bridge between the MySQL community and Aiven, to drive fixes and features important to Aiven. Previous experience on working with open source communities would help in the role but is not absolutely necessary.

Requirements

  • Excellent development skills in C++. Python experience desirable
  • Hands-on experience with MySQL
  • Prior contributions to Open Source Projects
  • Experience in using Linux in development
  • Fluency in English, verbal and written
