Freelance TV & Movies Articles Editor, Inverse
Bustle Digital Group
April 28, 2021
Inverse is seeking a freelance articles editor for its TV & Movies section.
A sharp eye for grammar and a talent for writing sticky headlines is essential. Inverse counts among its contributors bright, curious, talented reporters and writers. As such, the freelance articles editor should find a thrill in reading several memorable, whip-smart stories a day. A talent for layout is preferred, as Inverse’s customizable CMS is where the editor will do their work.
The freelance articles editor will edit 4-6 articles of short (500 words) to medium (1,110 words) in length each day. The editor will review all aspects of the article and publish it at the direction of the TV & Movies Editor. Articles do come with an editing deadline to ensure a publication cadence, but publication times are flexible.
As a freelance role, the articles editor will be working largely independently and is free to work at their own pace, given they can still produce the expected quality and file by the deadline.
Candidates will be expected to complete an edit test. Previous magazine or digital media editing experience is preferred but outstanding candidates (experienced journalists or arts writers, for instance) are also encouraged to apply.
This freelance role is contracted for three months and is subject to review and renewal.
