About the Role

Caribou is looking for a Manager, Business Operations that will execute our growth plan with our distribution partners.  In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing relationships with our existing partners and will collaborate with our Vice President of Business Development to sign new partnerships. Additionally, you’ll partner with Caribou’s product, engineering, analytics, and legal teams to execute strategic data & technology integrations that will provide the best possible buying experience for Caribou’s customers.

You have the quantitative skills to analyze performance data, build business cases and develop compelling case studies, while also commanding the soft skills to communicate clearly & confidently to partners, negotiate deals, build consensus among groups with different perspectives, and be willing to do whatever it takes to deliver upon our growth goals. You’ll be a key member of our business development team with exposure to senior leaders inside & outside the organization and you’ll play an important role in executing Caribou’s growth strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with existing partners, holding them accountable to shared goals and being a thought partner in shaping the growth strategy
  • Independently attract, negotiate, and sign deals with new partners, and collaborate with our Vice President of Business Development to do the same for larger, more complex deals
  • Monitor, evaluate, and assess performance among the partners you manage
  • Create & execute strategic account plans that deliver on our growth targets
  • Routinely communicate the state of our distribution partnerships, the biggest challenges and opportunities, and the plan to deliver on our goals with Caribou’s leadership team

This role can be based out of Caribou offices in Washington, DC or Denver, CO. Alternatively, the role may be based remotely within the U.S. Caribou currently requires that all personnel and visitors to any of its offices are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. As a result, candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be eligible for this position (subject to any exemptions or accommodations due to medical or religious reasons).

About You

We’re looking for someone with the following experiences and skill sets:

  • 3-6 years of experience at a strategy consulting firm, investment bank, financial institution, or a fintech/insurtech firm
  • Experience managing external partnerships or affiliate marketing programs
  • Confident, articulate, compelling verbal and written communicator (including presentations in Google Slides)
  • Organized, practical, and efficient “gets things done” approach
  • Curious, truth-seeking, and validates what others say before taking action
  • Consistently demonstrates strong business judgment & emotional intelligence
  • Startup / technology experience
