Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Research and understand the current needs for data management in the organization and existing projects across the movement
  • Design, build, and implement a proper Cloud Data Storage Architecture based on Microsoft Azure
  • Work closely with Microsoft engineers on finding the most suitable, effective, and efficient solutions
  • Design, build, and implement a monitoring system for the various storage environments
  • Monitor and manage those storage environments
  • Gradually build a data lake that will support advanced analytics and business intelligence
  • Collaborate closely with the Data Manager and other stakeholders on the availability of data
  • Work closely with the Infrastructure and Information Security teams to ensure the best possible performance and security of the storage environments
  • Work with the Data Manager and various stakeholders globally on transferring their data to the central repository
  • Make sure that all relevant data storage needs are fulfilled
  • Support projects in connecting and transferring data from various 3rd party systems across the movement or vendors
  • Document all activities and designs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT is strongly preferred
  • Proven extensive traditional database skills and experience
  • Proven experience with building and maintaining on-prem or cloud databases
  • Knowledge of Microsoft cloud storage products
  • Microsoft Azure experience strongly preferred: especially in data factory, file systems and data engineering
  • Knowledge of SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) is desired
  • Ability to connect to and source data from various systems
  • Ability to analyze and understand stakeholder requirements and proactively design the most suitable solutions
  • Ability to understand IT and business processes to understand their data requirements
  • Knowledge and pursuit of industry best practices and their relevant application
  • Ability to keep-up with the rapid developments in the world of data storage systems and related innovations
  • A positive and proactive attitude to any data related or management challenge
  • Independent, reliable and dependable
  • Self-motivated, proactive, flexible and an effective organizer
  • Ability to effectively work both autonomously and within a team
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
