This position is remote and requires the incumbent to reside in Mississippi (MS). The incumbent will be expected to travel within the state of Mississippi upon approval by Delta Dental Management.
The incumbent in this position manages accounts within an assigned geographic region. Major responsibilities include retention and building client relationships. Key roles include facilitating meetings, delivery of renewal/rate increases and identifying sales/product placement opportunities.

How you will make an impact:

  • Manages the renewal process with existing clients, including developing the renewal strategy, negotiating the product, rates and benefits mix.
  • Proactively selects, analyzes and presents financial reports in terms that are easily understood by the client or broker.
  • Develops reporting strategies and presentation materials that thoroughly represent Delta Dental’s services and value proposition to the client or broker.
  • Serves as a spokesperson for all departments of the company as needed to position Delta most effectively to retain business, expand products offerings and/or create additional business opportunities.
  • Collaborates with underwriting to implement an ongoing, proactive renewal strategy.
  • Strengthens the organization’s relationship with brokers/clients by developing and executing proactive, creative and ongoing contact initiatives.
  • Monitors group activity and other reporting to identify potential problems; works with functional areas to avoid and/or resolve issues.
  • Gathers and provides competitive intelligence to assist in competitive positioning of Delta Dental in the marketplace.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • What we look for:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Business Administration or Marketing.
  • Candidates with proven experience will not be excluded from consideration.
  • A minimum of 5 years of account management experience.
  • Strong project and time management skills and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and lead staff and cross-functional teams to achieve results.
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to travel and sustain company expenses for a period of one month.
  • Ability to operate and maintain a personal car for company business in a proper, safe, and responsible manner.
  • Proven commitment to excellence in customer service.
  • Excellent selling, negotiation and follow through skills.
  • Knowledge of Delta Dental products, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Current Dental Terminology (“CDT”) codes and dental nomenclature.
  • Familiarity with available competitor products and services.
  • Insurance license may be required in some states.
