Senior Analyst, Indirect Tax Technology

About the Role

The Sr. Analyst will play an important role in DoorDash's Indirect Tax function, helping manage the portfolio of its indirect tax and related technology applications, reporting dashboards, and associated operational processes. As a member of this team, you will assist us on the design, implementation, and operation of tax solutions and related processes to support our exponential growth. You will report to the Senior Manager of Indirect Tax Technology.

The primary focus of this position is end-to-end tax solutions for sales and use taxes, consumption-based taxes, gross receipts taxes, and VAT.

  • Identify indirect tax system needs and establish requirements.
  • Identify and apply best practices for tax processes and reporting strategies.
  • Participate in new projects and identify their impact on existing system(s) and processes.
  • Help design tax systems, ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Identify and document business, functional and technical requirements to support new projects and to enhance existing system functionality.
  • Support and design analytical tools to meet indirect tax compliance needs.
  • Support our internal partners with resolving tax related questions.
  • Participate in defining our indirect tax technology needs, including the maintenance of existing systems.
  • Prepare documentation related to our indirect tax systems.

We're excited about you because…

  • 3+ years of experience in a corporate tax department, public accounting or technology consulting firm or other related experience. Experience with Indirect Taxes in the US and familiarity with other Countries Indirect Tax regimes.
  • Experience implementing and configuring Vertex O Series, premise or on demand-based, application.
  • Knowledge of Alteryx, XML, SQL and other technologies..
  • Project management experience, including creation of project plans, milestones, and due dates.

Additional (Preferred) Qualifications

  • Accounting, Finance, Information Technology or Computer Science degree.
