Kava Labs is hiring for Director of Finance, who will be responsible for developing and implementing financial modeling and revenue reconciliation processes to provide key insights on Kava’s financial health and projections to stakeholders. This is a US-based, full-time, remote position required to work PST business hours.

We are a 100% distributed workforce with teams in the US, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. While distributed, you will work alongside a team of world class crypto experts on an open-source project that transfers millions of dollars in assets daily, providing the financial primitives for the next evolution in crypto.

What You Will Do.

  • Own Kava’s financial reporting and forecasting processes (monthly, quarterly, annual and long-range plan) with high degree of accuracy and transparency
  • Own total revenue & billings forecasts and related analyses, providing visibility and helping to define key topline metrics in partnership with our Finance org 
  • Report on token balances and activity on a monthly / quarterly basis
  • Report on and manage asset (token) portfolio review
  • Build a financial model and supporting dashboard that provides analytics into revenue, profit/loss, financial ratios, and cash implications for Kava’s leadership
  • Perform and report on revenue reconciliation of transactions (staking, token sales, etc)
  • Collaborate with Accounting team to post and maintain accurate and up to date journal entries for compliance
  • Drive process improvements and provide ad hoc analyses to support the company's growth at scale 

Who You Are.

  • 6+ years in building financial models and analytical dashboards
  • 5+ years of experience in working through a full cycle annual planning process 
  • 3+ years converting raw revenue transaction data into legible financial reports
  • 2+ years of experience analyzing ROI (Treasury experience welcomed)
  • 2+ years Managing at least a 1-2 person finance / accounting teams 
  • 1+ years of experience managing and/or reporting on a portfolio (with a percentage of the portfolio including crypto assets)  
  • 1+ years of digital asset inventory management and reporting
  • Nice to Have: MBA and/or  CPA or CFA
  • Interest in Crypto/Defi space 
  • You are an expert in Excel and have experience using, evaluating, or implementing financial modeling tools
  • You have experience as a People manager, collaborating with recruiting and our People Team to plan headcount, interview, and hire talent to scale your team in alignment with company goals
  • Comfortable adapting in a high-stakes, high-growth, roll up your sleeves type of work and fast-paced environment

  • 30 minutes – Recruiting Conversation
  • 30 minutes – Head of People Conversation
  • 1 hour – Head of Finance Conversation
  • 1 hour – Case Study with Head of Finance and CEO
