Position Summary

As the HR Associate, you will support Marqeta’s People Partnership team driving execution to best support how we serve our leadership team and Marqetan’s. You will act as the connector in between our HRBP team, our People Operations, Talent Acquisition team, as well as the business partners we serve to optimize our ability to remain agile and execute the most critical day-to-day activities that support business continuity in all people matters, processes and procedures. Being part of a fast-paced publicly traded company and reporting to one of the People Partners Lead, you will be responsible for performing higher-level executive tasks, while keeping up with all the different responsibilities and issues that can arise throughout the workday with no notice.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and coordinate processings of onboarding, organizational alignment and updates, as well as offboarding as needed to best support the HRBPs and leadership team.
  • Implement, track and maintain people data critical to our business and HRBP team as we navigate through changes across business and manage headcount and growth. 
  • Provide generalist support to associates and leadership on people practices, systems, and resources as appropriate and guided by the HRBP team.
  • Compile, assess and use and data regarding critical business metrics such as: headcount management, attrition, reporting lines, etc.
  • Advocate for the employee experience by partnering effectively with leaders, partners, and core teams to provide world-class service to Marqetans, including educating them on how and when to use self-service tools for processes that make the most sense.
  • Assist HRBPs in responding to questions regarding flexible first approach, benefits, policies, people practices etc.
  • Support  the People Partnership team’ strategies, objectives and roadmap, which aligned to the broader People Experiences' teams and business goals. 
  • Resolve escalations from internal business partners and the People Experiences team, including senior-level leadership.
  • Escalate broken processes and employee experiences, while continuously diving deep to find new ways to improve the employee experience, process effectiveness and speed of resolution to our processes.
  • Work individually and with the HRBP team to identify and eliminate barriers to accuracy, productivity, and quality.
  • Identify customer-impacting issues and implement solutions and process improvements to increase employee satisfaction. 
  • Participate in cross-functional process improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Work in a fast-paced operational environment and employ rapid, accurate judgment in the face of ambiguity or processes that may need improvement.
  • Manage confidential and sensitive employee information and adheres to strict data privacy standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Excellent knowledge of G-suite and/or Microsoft Office including Word, and Excel.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced operational environment, ideally supporting HR/People teams or functions – early career professionals are still encouraged to apply!
  • Experience with a wide variety of HR tools and systems including implementation of new products and reporting. Experience with Workday strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to identify process defects, make recommendations for process improvements, and implement process improvements.
  • Passion for supporting processes improvement and proven ability to follow existing processes with high attention to detail. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are strongly desired.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skill, while capable of complex analysis to derive insights based on initiatives or metrics that can be tracked, interpreted, presented, and tailored for multiple audiences.
  • Strong ability to communicate, provide follow-up and demonstrate ownership when assigned a task
