We’re looking for a Compensation and Performance Analyst to be a key partner to Finance and Operational leadership to ensure our compensation structures reward the desired behaviors of our teams.  Reporting to the Senior Manager of Finance, you will  manage variable compensation structures for a number of key roles at the company that focus on specific metrics of performance that lead to win-win-win scenarios (for the customer’s experience, for the compensated individual’s earnings, and for Modsy’s bottom line).  This role will be in charge of obtaining the necessary data to calculate these variable compensation components, performing the calculations and communicating them to payroll, drawing insights from the performance of individuals, teams and the effects of these structures, and helping leadership further design, expand, evolve these types of structures to other roles and parts of the organization.

In this role you will:

  • Design, calculate, analyze and review compensation and non-compensation related performance metrics for various company roles and provide insights to leadership on results
  • Analyze pay plan performance results and review compensation structures and propose updates to compensation plans
  • Analyze cost trends and model alternative compensation structures for budgeting and forecasting purposes
  • Calculate incentive award payments, prepare standardized non-payroll (i.e. not pay stubs) calculation statements for recipients, and communicate payment amounts to payroll with supporting data and analysis
  • Review and reconcile payment totals against underlying data, as well as forecasts and budgets
  • Analyze commission and incentive compensation data from various sources to validate results and research exceptions
  • Develop and improve systems to effectively track and capture data necessary to calculate various compensation programs
  • Assist Payroll and HR in updating, distributing and communicating changes to incentive compensation plans
  • We’ll be excited about you because your experience and qualifications include:

  • Experience designing and implementing incentive compensation plans and tools
  • Strong technical skills including Excel with knowledge of pivot tables and complex formulas; proficiency with ADP Workforce Now, Looker and NetSuite is strongly preferred
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Sales budgeting and forecasting or FP&A experience a plus
  • Experience working with large amounts of data
  • Strong communication skills, ability to interact with individuals in a professional and courteous manner regarding their compensation, and comfort communicating with cross-functional leadership Project management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be flexible, adapt and succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong organization skills and ability to efficiently and accurately manage daily responsibilities and prioritize duties
  • Must be detail-oriented and obsessive about ensuring the accuracy of one’s work
  • Must be a self-motivated individual who is willing and able to take on additional responsibility and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be an innovative thinker with a focus on long-term sustainable results for a growing and dynamic company.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred
  • At least 2+ years recent experience in financial planning and analysis, sales operations, or sales compensation (sales compensation experience highly preferred)
