Product Marketing Manager

 April 7, 2021
 Austin, TX or Remote
Our health system is broken, and it’s a huge problem. Costs are rising out of control while the patient experience gets worse. At Sana, we’re passionate about fixing this problem by bringing accessible and affordable health plans to small and medium businesses. We’ve built an innovative team with top talent from across the health insurance and tech industries to create engaging, modern plans for our clients. This allows our customers to offer competitive benefits packages while paying an average of 20% less than traditional plans.
Sana is searching for a Product Marketing Manager to help develop and support go-to-market plans, build compelling messaging and content, and be a key contributor from awareness all the way through to advocacy.  In this role you will work closely with both Marketing and Sales to accelerate growth in all phases of the funnel. You’ll be responsible for mapping our customer journeys and developing content that addresses each stage’s needs.  The right candidate will have experience in B2B marketing, have built great relationships with Sales teams, love mapping customer journeys, and creating compelling content. The ability to grasp and present Sana’s value proposition in a way that resonates and clearly articulates how we solve our buyers’ problems is critical to success.  You will have no trepidation about calling customers and prospects to get the feedback you need to fully understand those journeys and the content required to serve them.  You have a positive attitude and motivate those around you to do their best work.
The position is primarily remote, with occasional meetings in Austin, TX.

What you will do

  • Create and hone Sana’s positioning and messaging derived from your research on prospects, customers, sales, and operations — as well as competitive analysis, industry research, and market insights.
  • Be the expert on our buyer, their key buying criteria, and the overall market to prompt updates to our go-to-market strategy.
  • Drive the production of Sana’s marketing and sales content.  Create a strategy for our content needs and the fulfillment of those pieces, which will be used across multiple touch-points, including our blog, website, PR, and social media channels.  Fulfillment will often be accomplished by producing them yourself and managing production by outside contractors.
  • Assess the effectiveness of content, market messages and iterate on those learnings. Work with the rest of Marketing to develop integrated and lifecycle marketing campaigns and build the assets and messaging needed to execute on them.
  • Develop a strong rapport with the Sales team, and deliver the assets they need to increase conversion rates at each stage of the sales funnel.
  • Spearhead thought leadership projects that amplify Sana’s domain expertise, represent our value-based care mission, and gain our audience’s trust.
  • About you

  • You have 3+ years of experience in B2B Marketing roles, preferably within startups/smaller Marketing teams. You will wear many hats.
  • You like talking to other people inside and outside the company. You have worked extensively with teams outside of Marketing to gather the requirements for the content you develop. You like picking prospects’ and customers’ brains about how they think about their problems, possible solutions, and everything in between.
  • You love to write and are great at it. You can turn industry jargon into messages and stories that inspire action. You have samples of sales collateral, blog posts, case studies, etc., that prove it.
  • You’re a great communicator. This role requires you to be a great active listener. You are gifted at communicating complex ideas with succinct phrasing both internally and externally of Sana.
  • You dig deep to find new sources of value. You’re analytical and can take apart business problems piece by piece to understand where to start looking for answers.
  • You’re a great teammate, both with other Marketing team members and Sales (who will be your ultimate customer). You have a demonstrated history of working well with Sales teams.
  • You are excited and invigorated by being the first person to do something at your company. You’ll have the opportunity to build roadmaps instead of executing on templates. Sana is a startup, and the Marketing team is in its early days.  For the foreseeable future, you will spend much more time creating than optimizing.
