Part-time On-call Remote WordPress Support Specialist

Opteweb is expanding our team and looking for a ​part-time on-call remote web support specialist​ to take on client-based work for 3 months time with potential to turn into a permanent remote position.

This position:
We’re looking for an addition to the core of the team, a virtual fix-it-person who can reliably solve all the small issues that come up, like hacks and website crashes. The right person will also be our go-to fix-it person, and should be able to answer “I can fix that” to the issues that come up relating to WordPress, Linux servers, DNS, and databases. This will involve a core understanding of the internet as well as solid troubleshooting and researching skills. You will be the first person in our Support team, and as such will help us build out standard procedures for your day-to-day tasks.

What this position entails:
-Troubleshoot, estimate, and solve common issues on websites and servers, usually WordPress on Linux
-Debug common HTML/CSS/PHP issues
-Migrate websites from one server to another
-Debug common DNS configuration issues
-Communicate on Skype, Asana, Email, Phone, and track time in Paymo
-Be on call 24/7 and work a 10-20 hours a week remotely
-Work with established processes; add to and modify the processes

Minimum Job Requirements:
-Solid WordPress understanding, and experience to demonstrate
-Capacity to take a call at any hour of the day or night and begin working immediately if necessary (after-hour calls currently happen only once or twice a month but may ramp up)
-Invincible reliability and trustworthiness
-Ability to be professional and courteous on the phone
-Communication at the right time with the right people
-Solid troubleshooting & researching skills
-Clean work habits (you clean up after you’re done)
-The mindset of “let’s do it right the first time”

These things are a huge plus:
-Customer service experience
-Any freelance experience
-Any networking, server admin, or programming experience
-A love for fixing things that are broken
-Being cool and easy to work with

$18/hr plus $300 monthly bonus for being on call
